Pisgah Presbyterian Church College Scholarship Application
The Pisgah College Scholarship is available for application by persons who are presently members of Pisgah Presbyterian Church and who are supporting, nurturing and participating in the fellowship and life of the Church. Those seeking financial aid from this scholarship must have been accepted in, are attending, or are anticipating attending as a full-time student, an accredited college, university, or post-secondary vocational school.
Scholarships are awarded one year at a time for a maximum term of four years for the purpose of undergraduate studies. Grants will be made to applicants who meet the above criteria and have need for assistance in meeting the expenses pursuant to a post-secondary education, including direct academic expenses and attendant living expenses.
The current annual income from the Scholarship Fund will be available for distribution to qualified applicants during any given year by use of the following formula:
• All qualified applicants shall share equally the available funds.
• No applicant shall receive more than one-half of the available funds in any given year.
• No applicant shall receive more than $1,000.00 in any given year.
Application Procedure
1. Applicants secure an application form from the Church office or use the button below.
2. The application form, essay and transcript must be returned to the church office no later than April 15 to be considered.
3. Decision on applications will be made by May 15. Applicants will be notified in writing regarding the amount of the scholarship to be received.
4. Scholarships will be distributed to the applicants by August 1.
5. Scholarship aid shall be awarded one year at a time for a maximum term of four years.
6. Scholarship recipients will be recognized and presented to the Pisgah Church congregation at a worship service during the month of July.
The Scholarship Committee recommends a review of the above guidelines and procedures for possible revision and improvement. The Committee recommends review after four years.
