The Central Kentucky Community is responding to the crisis in Somalia and the subsequent refugee camps in Kenya. As hundreds of thousands of Africans struggle to survive severe drought, famine, disease and brutal civil conflict, your support today will help ensure we can quickly respond with humanitarian aid to the needs of these men, women and children. Your donation will also help us support the educational system that exists inside the refugee camps where many children are born and educated.

Your support today to “A Community Response, Education & Famine Relief in the Refugee Camps” will be used to save lives and reduce human suffering in Somali and in Kenyan Refugee Camps. Now that Famine has been officially declared in five regions of Somalia and other areas in the Horn of Africa and the United Nations expects the famine to spread across all regions, Somalia and the Kenyan Refugee camps currently have the highest malnutrition levels in the world; often over 50 percent. The declaration of famine confirms that the food crisis in the Horn of Africa is the worst humanitarian crisis in the world today, and there is little evidence of improvement. More than 12.4 million people suffer in Somalia, Kenya, Ethiopia, Somalia and Djibouti. They are in need of immediate humanitarian assistance. Your donation will directly affect the life of a Somalian living in the Refugee camps. Thank you for your participation in this effort.

Your volunteer fundraising efforts or donation will be supporting two objectives

  • Effect Immediate Need: Feeding the malnourished children in the refugee camps today
  • Effect Long Term Change: Help build up the education system inside the refugee camps

Simple Truths

  • 30,000 Children are dying each month.
  • It only takes $ 1 to feed a child a day.
  • One Starbucks Grande Venti coffee could feed 3.25 children for a day.
  • One fast food lunch feeds a child for nearly a week
  • An education effects a lifetime and can change the future of the child and the country.

Be a part of the community response to help effect today and the future for so many in need. We need your support to help us make a difference. Be an Advocate and help fundraise on behalf of the children.
Sincerely,
